Holiday Goat Cheese Log

Hey there,

If there’s one thing I absolutely adore about holiday cooking, it’s the appetizers. And this Festive Goat Cheese Log, drizzled with balsamic vinegar, garnished with dill and nuts, is the perfect example of how something simple can look so elegant on a Christmas table.

This holiday appetizer takes only a few minutes, I’m not joking I am serious, literally minutes to prepare. Creamy goat cheese meets a glossy balsamic drizzle that tastes like sweet holiday magic. Add a sprinkle of something festive (pistachios, walnuts, thyme, honey, pomegranate seeds — whatever your heart is craving). It’s the perfect combination of tangy, creamy, sweet, and slightly savory — a little festive flavor explosion on every slice.  In Europe, the goat logs tend to be smaller than you would find in the states and so I’ve prepared one just because I love this appetizer for now but for my holiday table I will use two logs.

Serve it with toasted baguette slices, crunchy crackers, or even Greek rusks for a Mediterranean twist. Serve it with warm baguette slices, crackers, or even those crispy rusks we Greeks love so much. One bite, and you’ll understand why this simple appetizer disappears long before the main dishes even make it to the table.

The holidays are busy enough; your appetizers don’t have to be. This is one of those recipes you can whip up when guests are walking in the door and still leave them thinking you’ve been preparing all day. ✨
