Hello,
Let’s get one thing straight, I love Greek food, I do… but tzatziki? Ehhh, it’s not my jam. I know, I know, why not blahh blahhh blahhh, because it’s too much garlic! That being said, I do make a mean tzatziki. But this time it’s the Traditional Greek Tzatziki Dip. It’s the real deal, the way it was made back in the chorio, no fancy twists, no avocado, no kale, dill, just good old Greek yogurt, shredded cucumber, a dash of vinegar, olive oil, and garlic. Lots of garlic. Like, clear-the-room kind of garlic. I watch people inhale it like it’s the last dip on Earth. And honestly, that’s enough satisfaction for me.
I made this tzatziki, right? My husband devoured it, and then you can only guess what might have happened to the whole house? Smelled like a garlic cloud had exploded. I opened windows, lit candles, and even waved a kitchen towel like a maniac. Did it help? Nope. Let’s not forget a can of Lemon scent Glade air freshener. Did this help?? NOOOPPEEE Garlic won. I wanted to add just one clove, but it had to be two and boommmm!!
Not for anything, the garlic head I used just happened to be Greek. That stuff is so freakin’ strong. One clove and boom, your tzatziki is alive and kicking. Two cloves? Let’s just say the neighbors three blocks down probably caught a whiff. hahahhahahaah What can you do, it’s authentic, right? This is exactly how it was made back in the chorio, bold, unapologetically garlicky, and totally irresistible for garlic lovers, that is… ahem, definitely not me. 🙂
