How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Did you have fun? Did you eat a lotttt!!?? You did?? Well, good for you!!
So, here’s a delicious snack that is great for your next holiday table and not only. Air-fried Dates with a Herbed Cream Cheese filling. I actually had to make two batches because well they disappeared in a matter of minutes. The combination of melted cheese and the sweet taste of Dates just had everyone literally gobble them down. hehehe A quick and easy put-together appetizer that can be cooked in the Air Fryer in under 10 minutes. So, all you have to do is slice a few pieces of Organic bacon in half, stuff the dates and pop them into the air fryer.
This savory Dates with Herbed Cream Cheese filling appetizer will surely surprise your friends and family, believe me. If you wish to use another type of cheese you can but make sure that it melts and is slightly on the salty side. Some of the Dates were filled with soft Blue Cheese so keep this in mind. I was able to find pitted Dates in my local supermarket, which makes the preparation process easier. Fresh dill works better with cream cheese rather than dried due to the intense taste. Now, if you don’t have an air fryer that’s fine because the oven works just as well just let them cook a few more minutes.
Many many years ago while attending Law University I met a girl who was from Egypt and was also attending the same University. She moved to Greece with her parents a year before we moved back. She was a sweet person her dad was Greek and her mom was Egyptian. One of the topics we spoke about was food, cuisines of course. She mentioned that back in Egypt her mom would bake Dates but I don’t remember her mentioning a filling. Interesting don’t you think? Give it a try I am sure you will love it.

Dates with Herbed Cream Cheese filling
Ingredients
- 25 Dates pitted
- ½ cup cream cheese at room temperature
- ¼ cup dill chopped
- ½ cup blue cheese softened at room temperature
- 8 slices bacon organic cut in half
- salt pinch
- toothpicks
Instructions
- Combine softened cream cheese and dill in a bowl.
- Slice organic bacon in half and separate each piece.
- You can spoon in the filling or fill a piping bag. Take a strip of bacon and roll over the date. Use a toothpick to secure it.
- place into the air fryer, and cook at high for 9 minutes.
- Serve hot
