Hello, my foodie friends,
Yes, yes, I know you’ve had it, you’ve got recipes for it, and maybe your YiaYia (grandmother in Greek) makes the best Greek Village Salad (Horiatiki) on the planet. Recipe-wise, it’s probably just like the one you already know: juicy tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, green peppers, red onions, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, and a good sprinkle of dried oregano. A generous pour of Greek extra virgin olive oil, a little vinegar, and ta-da! The only real difference? I made it. 😄. Which makes it extra special… right? Right. Hahah!
Summer is one of my favorite seasons (not the very hot days), not just for the sunshine and longer days, but also for the colors of the vegetables and fruits are so vibrant. Everything looks brighter, fresher, and somehow more delicious. It’s hard not to smile when your salad bowl is bursting with reds, greens, and purples. Give me juicy tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers, a handful of olives, and a thick slice of feta, and I’m a happy camper. Listen, I’ll be the first to say it, I love tomatoes. Like… love them. And all those fresh ingredients that go into a Greek Village Salad! Perfection
I could eat the whole bowl, no, no, I do eat the whole bowl of this salad. It’s just too good not to! Simple, fresh, refreshing, and utmost satisfaction. In my opinion, this salad doesn’t just taste like summer… it is summer. And without fail, there’s always that one perfect tomato chunk left at the bottom of the bowl. Yup, we argue over who gets it every single time. I don’t always win! 🙂
It’s just too good not to! Don’t forget the bread for dipping because it’s a must with this Greek Village Salad (Horiatiki)
Have a great morning/afternoon/evening, everyone!

I’m good. Yes, it’s been so long, but I’m not sure if I’m back entirely. I’m still testing the waters to see if to return to blogging fully. How have you been? I hope good.
Ok, sounds good! You’ll know when you are ready. 🙂 I’ve had a few changes in my life. Moved to another country in Europe.
