Hey there,
I’m backkk with another 5-minute meze recipe! If you’re a fan of feta (and honestly, how could you not be?) and love Greek mezedes, then this one’s for you. Greek Feta Saganaki is the crispy, golden, melty cheese snack of your dreams. It only takes 5 minutes to whip up. Yup, you read that right. Five. Minutes. That’s barely enough time to pour yourself a glass of wine, but hey, multitasking is a skill.
This meze is one of those simple pleasures that make life better. All it takes is a block of feta, a light flour coat, vegetable oil, and a sizzling hot pan, oh, and of course, sesame seeds. You’ll end up with a crusty exterior and a gooey, salty center that’ll have everyone hovering around the kitchen. Finish it off with a drizzle of honey or a squeeze of lemon if you prefer. If you are also hosting a Brunch, this is a meze you would want to serve. I don’t always have pita bread on hand, and you don’t have to serve it only with pita bread. Crackers, toasted bread will do.
I love black sesame seeds because they’ve got this subtle, almost peppery kick that wakes up your taste buds. And when you sprinkle them alongside white sesame seeds, they don’t just add flavor, they give your feta that little extra kick. Trust me, it’s a sesame seed blow-up. I used vegetable oil. It’s lighter than olive oil. It’s not something I prefer to fry with when I do fry, which I rarely do.
Honestly, this isn’t just food. It’s a vibe. Perfect for lazy afternoons, taverna dreams, or those nights when you’re too tired to cook but still want to feel like a Greek goddess of the kitchen. Although, let’s be real for a second, Greek goddess? Me? Hahahaha. I’m standing there in my slippers, hair up in a messy bun, dodging oil splatters like I’m in the Olympics. Where’s the goddess in that? hahhaha But hey, if making this crispy, golden, sesame-crusted feta counts as channeling divine energy, I’ll take it!!
Have a great morning/afternoon/evening, everyone!
