Hey there,
Last month, I posted a similar recipe to this Crispy Roasted Beer Potatoes, with a Greek-ish twist. But I switched things up this time and used a dark brown beer. I used Guinness beer, and, wow, what a difference it made!! I was so curious and tempted to try it last time, but I held off because I wanted to experiment first, and I was curious which beer would bring out the best flavor. Not all beers are created equal when it comes to cooking, right? Some are too bitter, others too light. So I played around a bit, and the dark brown beer was the winning beer. Okay, so here’s the thing… I’ve had this idea for a while.. You know when something sticks in your head and won’t let go? Yep, that was me with beer-roasted potatoes. I finally gave in, tried it out, and lI loved it.
The richness of the beer gave the potatoes a slightly caramelized depth. You get that cozy, sweet, malty flavor that adds so much taste in every bite. It’s like comfort food turned gourmet! If you haven’t tried roasted potatoes this way, trust me, you’re in for a treat. Just don’t forget the olive oil and the beerrrrr, maybe even a little garlic (I didn’t add garlic) for extra oomph. Let’s talk comfort food with a little twist. These beer-roasted potatoes are crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The beer gives the potatoes depth, so just think malty, savory goodness that soaks right into those golden edges.
I like to toss mine with a good amount of olive oil (naturally), a sprinkle of oregano, and a generous amount of smoked hot paprika, and then I pour in a can of dark beer into the pan. The potatoes cook until they were crispy and browned. Honestly, the smell alone is enough to make you drool. These make a perfect side for any roast, grilled veggies, or even just with some tzatziki on the side for dipping. And if you’re feeling bold, squeeze a little lemon over them before serving—because, well, I am Greek, after all.
If you love to experiment in the kitchen, then try these delicious crispy potatoes and see for yourself.
I would like to wish everyone a lovely morning/afternoon/evening!

Crispy Roasted Beer Poatoes
Ingredients
- 12 potatoes Cut into halves
- 3 tbsp mustard mild
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp oregano dried
- 330 ml dark beer guinness
- pepper
- 2 garlic crushed (optional)
- 2 tbsp spicy paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200℃.
- Wash and then pat dry the potatoes, cut into halves
- Toss the potatoes into a baking pan, drizzle with the olive oil, mustard, spicy hot paprika, pepper, and oregano. Roll up your sleeves and use your hands to mix.
- Pour in the beer and give everything a good stir, making sure the potatoes are nicely coated.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and pop it into the oven. Let it cook for one hour—this helps the potatoes soak in all that beer-infused flavor and cook until tender.
- After an hour, remove the foil and place the pan back into the oven. Let the potatoes cook for another 20 minutes. They’ll start to brown and crisp up on the outside while staying tender on the inside.
- Serve and enjoy
