I bet you never knew that you could combine avocados with feta and make it work! Well, you can 🙂 Avocados are smooth and buttery, while feta is salty, peppery, and sometimes so crumbly. And when you blend them, something very magical happens. The avocado gives a velvety base, the feta adds a Mediterranean kick, and suddenly you have a delicious dip. It’s fresh, rich, and unbelievably easy.
There are days when you want to make something elaborate. And then there are days when you just want a bowl of something creamy, fresh, and ridiculously tasty. That’s exactly where this creamy avocado feta dip comes in. I’ve always loved avocados, but I used to think of them as a topping. Something that you slice and place onto toast or toss into a salad. So, one afternoon many years ago, I stumbled across a recipe, or at least something close to what I’m sharing today. I had two perfectly ripe avocados sitting on my counter, and I remember thinking, “Why am I not trying this and seeing what happens?” So I did. And what came out of that little experiment was a creamy, bright, full‑flavored dip with a Mediterranean vibe that instantly won me over.
What I love most is how simple it is. You throw everything into a bowl: ripe avocados, a squeeze of lemon, a little garlic, a drizzle of olive oil, feta cheese, and, of course, Greek yogurt. The lemon gives it a tangy taste, while the olive oil adds richness, the yogurt, well, you know what Greek yogurt does, and the garlic brings just enough bite to keep things interesting. And because it’s so smooth and luscious, it works with everything: pita chips, crunchy vegetables, even grilled chicken!!
Wondering what the best part is? The added feta cheese, of course! If you want to give this dip a spicy kick, add some chili flakes for heat. You can make it smooth, chunky, tangy, mild, whatever mood you’re in; this dip definitely adapts. Every time I make this dip, I’m reminded of how satisfying simple food can be.

Creamy Avocado Feta Dip
Ingredients
- 3 avocados peeled and cut in half
- 1 cup feta cheese crumbled
- ¾ cup Greek yogurt
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 lemon zest
- 2 tbsp olive oil optional
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Add the 3 avocados, which have been peeled, and pulse until they begin to break down.
- Spoon in the ¾ cup Greek yogurt and the 2 garlic clovesblend until everything looks smooth and creamy.
- Toss in the crumbled 1 cup feta cheese and blend on high speed for about 5 minutes, until the mixture becomes velvety.
- Pour in the 2 tbsp olive oil and continue blending. Sprinkle in the 1 lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Blend on high speed for just a few seconds to bring everything together.
- Serve with your favorite pita, crackers or bread.
