Bourbon Vanilla Dessert Cake

Hello there friend,

How are things today?  The weather took a turn again, it has been quite cold!!  I thought we were done wearing  hats and scarves.  The weather channel announced that we should be having high temps towards the end of the week,  we will just have to wait and see. 🙂  A few weeks ago I had mentioned in a previous post that I would be starting Yoga classes. Last Thursday was so suppose to be my first Yoga class, but unfortunately it was cancelled. I received an email on Wednesday stating that they did not have enough people sign up for the class. 🙁   I was so looking forward to it, and honestly I think sending an email the day before the class is to start is just a bit too late.  If they had send it a few days earlier I would have been able to search for something else.

So, I headed straight for my garden and starting cutting the grass, taking out a few weeds here and there.  I still have more work to do and the truth of the matter is that it really isn’t that big of a garden.  So, I should have it done in about 2 hrs with a few breaks in between. 🙂

My brother came over on Saturday, I knew he was coming over a bit later in the day, so that gave me plenty of time to bake a cake.  I wanted to try out something new, so I searched around and found this delicious recipe from bake from scratch. 🙂  There were some ingredients in the original recipe which I did not have on hand, so I tweaked it. 🙂  It turned out to be a light, and tasty cake with a strong taste of Bourbon Vanilla.  yummm 🙂

Have a great week!!! 🙂

  4. Love this beautiful & delicious cake! It looks so soft & spongy.
  5. Yes, I heard that too, higher temps for the bank holiday weekend. I hope so, I’m freezing! It’s a shame about the yoga, Sophie, and disappointing that they let you know so late. I would have been pretty miffed about that. Do you think there may be any others elsewhere you could sign up for? I’ll keep my fingers crossed as it’s sad to think you’ve missed out when you were so looking forward to it. The recipe sounds divine! I love the idea of bourbon vanilla in this. Yum! Caz xx
