We are in full swing of Apple season. I was going to say that I was looking forward to Autumn/fall but I’m not. I’m still in the summer mood, the summer just went by too fast. Anyway, we are in October so I have to try to put myself into an Autumn/fall mood but I’m not liking it at all. But here it goes I challenged myself once again to try this Baked Caramelized Apple Slices recipe. I say challenged because I have tried to make it once before in the past but it took me a few tries because I couldn’t for the life of me get the combination of sugar and cinnamon right. Don’t ask me why but I just couldn’t get it right! So, I never attempted to try this recipe again.
I wanted a fruit dessert with apples but I didn’t want to make the same recipe again this year let’s say apple cake, apple pie, or apple tart. I wanted something gourmet-ish if you know what I mean. So, I took out my cookbook with the recipe and well I gave it a go and it worked out. The apple slices just turned out beautifully, tender, the caramel was gooey and I was happy. This Baked Caramelized Apple Slices recipe only takes about 15 minutes of your time to prep and 10 minutes in the oven.
These Baked Caramelized Apple Slices are a fruit dessert made with just brown sugar and cinnamon. For me, Cinnamon is the main ingredient that stands out in this recipe. I choose to buy good quality cinnamon powder, sticks, not just for this recipe but to use in recipes that call for cinnamon.
There is a Greek pasta recipe that calls for cinnamon that is made in a greek tavern. Here’s my version: https://foodzesty.com/greek-style-pasta-with-cinnamon-and-cheese-recipe/
Have a great morning/afternoon/evening everyone!
