Watermelon Granedine Mocktail

Hey friends,

After the afternoon thunderstorm, as usual, it got very hot and humid.  We needed something that was refreshing, and so in came the Watermelon Mocktail. 🙂  I picked up some Watermelon from a small Turkish Supermarket we have in our area and it just so happened that the Watermelon was from Greece!!  how about that!!

How the weather has changed. I remember when we first moved to NL the summers were wet and chilly…but 8 years later the weather has changed to higher temperatures climbing into the 40s and higher…Hot Hot Hot!!  We had temps in the high 30’s back in May.  We did have a low spell after that but now I guess finally having summer weather.

Some may have not heard of Grenadine Syrup…so it basically is made from pomegranate juice, sugar, and water.  I read the other day that they are now using blackcurrant juice instead of pomegranate juice.  I was not able to find pomegranate so I used a store-bought Grenadine Syrup for the Mocktail.   But using the original fruit definitely makes a huge difference.

So, if Summer weather is in your area, country, region I think you just find this Watermelon Mocktail a delicious surprise.   A very simple recipe that you can prepare in less than 10 minutes.  Super delicious and solo colorful 🙂

  1. Every watermelon drink I have tried to make always turns out blah. Maybe it is because I try to venture out on my own instead of using a recipe :) Thanks for a recipe that sounds delicious.
