Hey foodie friends,
Smoothies at least for me don’t have a season. Granted, when the weather is hot it is refreshing, but what stops us from drinking smoothies in the winter? As you can see, it doesn’t stop me because I love smoothies and fresh juice all year round. This Orange Mango Lime Smoothie is a favorite of mine. So, here’s the problem with some of the smoothie drinks. I don’t like bananas, I stopped eating bananas when I was maybe around 7 or 8. I’ve been told that I did eat bananas, before that age but now I don’t even like the smell. I leave the kitchen when my husband is eating a banana….:)
Of course, Smoothies should have a creamy texture with your favorite fruits and or vegetables so if you prefer adding a banana then go for it. As for me, I would either add yogurt or nothing. For this Orange Lime Mango smoothie adding yogurt would have been a bit too much. Instead, I added half a tbsp of brown sugar and dissolved it in water. I’ve seen so many variations of smoothies on the market, in stores, smoothie bars, etc but honestly as much as I love vegetables I can’t drink them. I prefer eating them grilled, baked, or boiled. While I was preparing to add my fruits into my blender I had a thought. Isn’t it interesting how things have changed, for example, our grandparents, great grandparents went from squeezing juice by hand, then they used those old glass squeezers, to juicers, and now we puree our fruit.
So, what’s stopping you from trying out this Smoothie recipe? Nothing? Well then go ahead and make it and enjoy this refreshing fruity drink all year round.
PS. Please excuse the way I have cropped the photos but editing on my phone is quite difficult. I hope to be able to purchase a new compact camera in the next few months.
Have a great morning/noon/afternoon/night everyone!!
