Greek Air Fryer Chickpeas

Hiii there,

Can someone please explain to me how in the world it’s almost the month of May?! I  swear it was just January like… two seconds ago. Geezzzz, time does fly.  Ok, so the recipe of the day is Greek Air-fryer Chickpeas, which are crunchy, spicy, and just the right amount of salt and everything I want in a snack, and they’re super easy to make! I mean, who doesn’t love chickpeas? But give them a Greek vibe with some dried oregano, a touch of garlic, and even a little lemon zest….and done!

Do you ever have one of those days of “I have nothing in the fridge but still need to eat something decent” days?. Chickpeas to the rescue… I usually make a small batch and toss them in my air fryer in under 15 minutes. Sometimes, I like to sprinkle a little feta on top once they’re out, and  I’ll add a pinch of chili flakes if I’m in the mood for something spicy.

But it wasn’t a feta day, or a lemon zest day, it was supposed to be an oregano day.. Okay, don’t laugh, guys… I forgot the oregano this time.  I know, I know it’s the one thing that gives these chickpeas their Greek vibe. But ufff, they still came out crunchy, tasty, and yummy.  Here’s another idea that you may like: when preparing your salad, instead of adding croutons, replace them with these air-fried chickpeas.  I sometimes boil the canned chickpeas because I have found some that were not as tender.

I don’t often use canned chickpeas.  But sometimes it’s the only way to go when I want to make a recipe with chickpeas. I finally ran out of the dried Greek chickpeas I brought back from Greece last summer, yep, all gone.  But until my next trip, canned it is… and honestly, they worked out just fine for this recipe.  If roasted chickpeas or roasted anything, for that matter, aren’t your thing, no worries at all! Just boil them until tender, then toss with your favorite seasonings and herbs. It’s super simple and still full of flavor. Just don’t forget to add olive oil, roasted or not.  Believe me, adding olive oil is where the magic is. 🙂

Ok, everyone, I’m off to make my next batch of Greek Air Fryer Roasted Chickpeas and secretly stash it away. 🙂
