Fluffy Brioche French Toast

Helllo, my foodie friends,

Ok, so what kind of combo is this exactly? France meets the U.S. with a touch of Greece and Greek magic, sounds about right, doesn’t it?  Somehow, it just works. A little buttery brioche, an oven bake, and a sprinkle of cinnamon… voilà! Breakfast just became international. hahahhahahah. Now this is what I call a flavorful weekend breakfast done right! Warm, golden, brioche bread that is soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside.  This Fluffy Brioche French Toast is just as delicious as my https://foodzesty.com/easy-bake-apple-cake/  for a cozy, lazy morning or afternoon.

I bought a loaf of brioche bread the other day, a little treat I  enjoy once in a while. And, as you probably know by now, the moment I buy something delicious, my brain immediately starts thinking, “Hmm… what recipe can I make with this?” Instead of the usual toast or sandwich, I thought, why not bake it? I did some research to see if this type of recipe exists on the internet, and lo and behold,  it does! Definitely didn’t see that coming, hehehe. Turns out, baked brioche French Toast is quite the thing… who knew? hahahha. Living here in Europe, I’ve never actually seen it served in any café, so of course, I had to give it a try myself.

I wasn’t in the mood to do the whole pull out the frying pan, add butter, and so forth to make French toast, and so this was at least I thought much easier for an early morning.  Popping them in the oven and done.  And oh, it turned out so good. No standing over the stove flipping slices; the oven does all the work while you sip your coffee.

What I love about this recipe is how easy it is.  A little whisking, a bit of soaking, and before you know it, your kitchen smells like butter.  🙂  I added a bit more butter because I wanted that strong buttery taste. I grabbed my cup of coffee and waited for the French toast. The edges turned out crisp, the middle was soft and custardy. And then I topped the toast off with powdered sugar, a whole lot of cinnamon powder, and a drizzle of maple syrup.  I almost forgot to write that I topped the French toast with blueberries!

A great idea for brunch with friends or breakfast in your pajamas, this breakfast treat is simply delish!

Have a lovely morning/afternoon/evening, everyone!
