Blueberry Smoothie with Greek Yogurt and Honey

Hey all,

It is Smoothie Season, well at least for me it is. This Blueberry Smoothie is packed with fruits and yogurt…Most smoothies have at least one banana.  I don’t like bananas and so adding yogurt is a great alternative that is if you like yogurt.  This is my fourth smoothie, but I guess due to the mini heatwave we had last week there has been a shortage in fresh fruit.  People must have been eating lighter and definitely making smoothies.  The Fresh Fruit section in the supermarket was empty!! so, I made a left turn with the shopping cart and headed for the frozen fruit section. I was shocked to see that everything was gone, except for this little old package that was left on the shelf.  Of course, I grabbed the box and off I went.

I bought my Smoothie machine about 10 years ago.  Yes, it is quite old and I am surprised that it has lasted this long.  But this morning I noticed that it was having a hard time trying to break down the fruit. 🙁  It kept making that noise..grrr and grrrr and grrrrrr.  And so I think the time has come to slowly part ways with my little helper and do a little research for a much newer but not so expensive machine.  Not that this one was expensive…If I remember correctly I bought it for about 25 euros. I did a little research this morning in between lessons and OMG!!  I found the prices to be way too expensive for my budget, so I have one option and that is to wait for the SALES. 🙂

Have a great day and week everyone!! 🙂

  1. Mmmmm fruity and yummy! I've not had a smoothie in ages. I wanted to get one of those Breville smoothie makers, the plastic type, quite cheap and they get good reviews. They're a lot more streamlined, lighter, easier to clean etc than the chunky hefty monster of a maker we've got (which is probably why it never gets used.. oops!) I hope you can find a good replacement that you're happy with. 10 years is an amazing time to have your current one. I love nanas. Sadly I can't eat them anymore (my stoma doesn't like them, grrr) but I had wondered about what it would be like mushed up in a smoothie. I do think nanas are an acquired taste though.xx
