Old Style Lemonade Syrup recipe

Hey hey,

During the hot summer days, we are always looking for a cool drink besides water that will quench our thirst.  I enjoy drinking, infused, sparkling, and all kinds of water. but I also want a nice tall glass of my lemonade.  This recipe is an Old Style Lemonade Syrup that becomes Lemonade when adding water or sparkling water.  This Old Style Lemonade Syrup recipe consists of three ingredients, yes, just three, water, sugar, and fresh lemon juice.

This Lemonade syrup is infused with fresh lemon juice that is bursting with flavor.  Now, there are many types of flavors that you can add to this lemonade syrup.  Since I love to experiment I added strawberry syrup with sparkling water a few slices of lemons and lime and wow was that delicious!!  The added mint also boosts the taste but what stood out to me was the combination of the strawberry syrup and lemon flavors.  I have in the past years ago enjoy a glass of this delicious drink but never really tried it at home.  Sure, I make lemonade during the summer adding fresh fruit, yes, but never adding any other flavored syrup.

I started the preparation process by first cutting my lemons and limes in half and then into slices.  I added water with sugar into a medium saucepan and simmered it until it became a slightly thick syrup.  The quantity mentioned in the recipe card below is the amount that I prefer to use when making this syrup.  You can change the quantity to your tasting.  I squeezed about five lemons, the taste of organic lemons I believe is better.  I honestly wish I had a lemon tree of my own. Lemon trees are quite beautiful to look at when in full bloom don’t you think so?

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend 🙂
