Hellloo,
A few weeks ago, I posted a bread recipe. Well, since I had some stale bread leftover, it would have been a shame to throw it out. So, I went ahead and made these really tasty homemade garlic buttery croutons. I love adding croutons to soup and salads; they give these dishes such pizazz. So let’s go take that stale bread out that you were about to toss out and turn it into tasty croutons. That’s right, your leftover baguette, sandwich slices, or rustic country loaf turns into crunchy, buttery, garlicky cubes of flavor.
You know those sad, lonely leaves of lettuce in your salad bowl that make you question life choices? Yeah… we’ve all been there. That’s where homemade garlic buttery croutons swoop in like tiny crunchy surprises. Once you toss them over a salad, you can immediately taste the difference in the salad, even if it’s just with romaine lettuce with a dash of dressing. Drop a handful into a warm bowl of soup, and suddenly your Tuesday dinner feels like a bowl of treats.
Crispy on the outside, with a strong taste of garlicky goodness. To clarify, the garlic croutons were for the rest of the family. I made oregano croutons for meeeeeee. You know what the funny part was?? They also wanted mine so that they could combine both flavors, uffffff
There’s something truly let’s sayyyy satisfying about making croutons at home. The smell of butter melting and garlic sizzling, with a hint of herbs in the air, is basically a treat. And let’s be real: hovering impatiently over the oven, peeking every few minutes because you need them to be perfectly golden, is half the fun. But the real fun starts the moment that they instantly turn the simplest dish into something amazingly delicious, and let’s not forget a little bit addictive.
So next time you see salad that needs that extra something something or a lonely bowl of soup, remember these Homemade Garlic Butter Croutons. (I also sprinkled a little grated salty cheese on top) 🙂
Have a lovely morning, afternoon, and evening!
