1 stand mixer & bowl
1 medium-size bowl
1 kitchen scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ⅔ tbsp sugar
- ½ tbsp dry yeast
- 1 ⅓ cups lukewarm water
- ⅓ tbsp salt
- olive oil grease the bowl
In a medium-size bowl, add the 1 ⅔ tbsp sugar½ tbsp dry yeastand 1 ⅓ cups lukewarm water. Gently whisk and set aside for a few minutes, until the yeast activates and becomes foamy.
Preheat oven to 170℃.
Add the 4 cups all-purpose flour, the activated yeast mixture, ⅓ tbsp salt, and butter to the bowl of a stand mixer. Using the dough hook, knead on medium speed for about 5 minutes.
Place the dough in a lightly greased stand mixer bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Once the dough rises, transfer the dough to a surface and sprinkle flour. Knead lightly, then use a rolling pin to roll it into a rectangle shape, making sure the thickness is even.
Place the dough into a loaf pan and bake for 40 minutes. Once the bread turns golden brown, loosely cover it with aluminum foil to prevent the crust from burning while the inside continues to bake.
Let it cool completely before slicing.
