- 500 grams rigatoni pasta
- 1 ½ cans diced tomatoes
- 1 ½ tsp tomato paste
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 onion finely chopped
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tbsp dry oregano optional
- 1 tbsp sugar optional
- parmesan cheese grated
- salt
- pepper
Sauté the onion in the olive oil.
Add the grated tomatoes, tomato paste, cinnamon, sugar, salt, and pepper, and simmer until the sauce thickens
At the end, remove the cinnamon from the sauce.
Fill a pot with 5 liters of salted water and bring it to a boil over high heat.
Once the water starts boiling, add the pasta. Stir with a fork and let it cook either for as long as indicated on the package or to your liking.
Drain the pasta and drizzle 2 tbsp of olive oil. Mix gently
Serve the pasta with the sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese.
