Greek Chicken Orzo Recipe

This Greek chicken and orzo dish brings together juicy, seasoned chicken and silky orzo simmered in a herb‑infused broth. It’s a simple one-pan, vibrant, and deeply comforting bowl of food.

- 2 ½ cups Orzo
- 5 chicken thighs
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- ½ tbsp cinnamon powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 ½ ltr vegetable stock
- ½ cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- salt
- 4 allspice pepper
- kefalotyri or Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 180℃
In a large pot, add water and boil the chicken for 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same pot, add ½ cup olive oil, 1 onion, and 2 garlic cloves. Sauté until they caramelize. Transfer the mix to the baking pan.
Then add the 2 tbsp tomato paste, and sauté for a few minutes. Add the 1 ½ ltr vegetable stock, 4 allspice pepper, 2 bay leaves, 2 tbsp smoked paprika, ½ tbsp cinnamon powder, and 2 ½ cups Orzo into the baking pan.
Place the pan into the oven. Cook the orzo until half of the liquid is absorbed. Then place the 5 chicken thighs cook until the orzo and chicken are tender.
Garnish each serving with your favorite cheese.
