HOMEMADE GREEK GYROS & PITA BREADS

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo Pork or Chicken
  • 1 cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 cup Oregano
  • 1/4 cup Parsley
  • 2 Tablespoons Mustard mild
  • 2 Tablespoons Paprika sweet
  • Tzatziki
  • Onions diced
  • Tomatoes sliced
  • Pita Bread

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl add the olive, vegetable oil, stir.
  2. Add in the oregano and mustard.
  3. continue with the paprika,
  4. and last but not least the parsley.
  5. Mix all the ingredients and pour over the meat.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight. Place one piece on top of the other and use skewers to hold the meat together. Place in a pre-heated oven at 180 and cook for 1 1/2 hours.
  7. I cut the pita breads into smaller pieces and sprinkled a bit of vegetable oil, and paprika. Baked them for about 10 minutes.
  8. Cut meat into smaller pieces, place on pita along with tzatziki, tomatoes, onions and some of those delicious baked french fries.
