Madeleine Orange Butter Cookie Recipe

 Hey there,

Spring has arrived and Easter is next week, I thought of re-posting this wonderful French Madeleine Orange Butter Cookie Recipe just in case you would like to give the recipe a try.

Have a great morning/afternoon/evening everyone. 🙂

Hi there everyone,

Whenever I bake these delicious shell-shaped Madeleine Orange Butter cookies Spring has arrived.  I daydream, about traveling, to France, Italy, Spain, and Greece. One of the countries that usually stands out in Spring is definitely France.  Paris is one of my favorite cities, favorite cities yes but the countryside of France is just breathtaking.  Beautiful, picturesque villages, filled with quaint Cafes with mouthwatering pastries.  For example, fresh-baked Eclairs filled with fresh Vanilla Custard, fresh-baked Lemon tart, or delicious Vanilla flavored Madeleine.   Sound good?    These lovely  Madeline Orange Butter cookies are a tradition in France.  In some cafes in the countryside, they will serve you coffee with a Madeleine Cookie.  The first time I tried this cookie was years ago when I was visiting the Northern part of France we found a lovely small cafe that offered freshly baked  Vanilla Madeleine Cookies.

I’ve made Vanilla Madeleines but I was looking for a recipe that had a bit of a sweeter taste.  I found this Madeleine Orange Butter Cookie recipe below from “Entertaining with Beth”  I have been following her for a while and she has some great recipes. I gave this recipe a try,  but I wanted a bit more of the orange taste  I squeezed half of the orange that I used and added one and a half tablespoons to the recipe as my twist.   The original recipe does not call for orange juice but you can leave it out.

Most prefer these delicious little bites with a cup of tea, but I enjoy these little cookies with a nice cup of coffee.

I hope you give these cookies a try, let me know what you think.

Have a great day everyone!!
